Heating oil

Boilerjuice / DCC and GB Oils accused of misleading heating oil consumers and price fixing  via their “price comparison” website Boilerjuice. However, consumers beware!  It does not stop there as we discover another 77 websites.

Interestingly we noticed that another high ranking website that regularly appears in Google’s search results heatingoil.co.uk suddenly appeared to be “under maintenance”.  Even more interesting is that we discovered that  www.heatingoil.co.uk is also owned by DCC via GB Oils as are Homeheating.org.uk and Oilspotprice.co.uk.

Is this further evidence that DCC’s grip on the UK heating market is stronger than originally thought?  Well maybe:

It was reported recently that DCC owns around 41 heating oil suppliers in the UK but looking a little deeper into their Internet presence we discovered, in addition to the four websites listed above, we found another 68 and just today one more “comparison” website fueloildirect.co.uk  all owned / registered by GB Oils taking the total to 77(including Boilerjuice and latest updates).
